Activities
Summary of Project Activities
The MARE partners have set out to achieve the project objectives by working within a structure of six work packages, five targeted at specific aspects of delivery and the sixth on overall project management. These are:
WP1: Learning and Action Alliances
Focuses on the establishment of horizontal and vertical cooperation networks and supporting them by setting up cooperation processes and training for the coordinators and organisations which will lead the cooperation. The development of the alliances will be documented and will be used to produce a report on lessons learned.
WP2: Climate Proofing Toolbox (CPT)
Sets out to develop a toolbox and guidance for climate-proofing of responses identified in Flood Risk Management Plans, appropriate to the needs of municipalities and other authorities. The development team will support the application of the CPT by the municipal partners and enhance the toolbox based on their feedback.
WP3: Demonstration
The municipal partners will develop Flood Risk Management plans and investment proposals for specific (re)development projects using participatory planning methods and the CPT.
WP4: Process and Policy Implementation
Based on the experiences that the alliances gain from WP3 transnational implementation strategies for the tools and processes of creating urban FRM plans will be developed together with proposals for policy implementation measures.
WP5: Implementation and Dissemination
Sets out to align the internal project activities and the communication with other projects and organisations to facilitate engagement and sharing processes and disseminating the project deliverables.
WP6: Management
Ensures the integration of the project activities, the overall direction of the project and reporting.
Each work package is being implemented through three phases; Initiation, Demonstration and Implementation & Dissemination. The durations of the phases vary for each work package. The establishment of effective means of communication to facilitate internal alignment and external engagement is an essential part of the management process to ensure that the work package deliverables meet the objectives wet out in the application form and the emerging needs of the partners.
